asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the Government's declared policy to subsidise British shipping, he will consider the advisability of restricting the subsidy to those ships burning coal or oil directly produced from British coal?

I would refer my hon. Friend to the statements made on behalf of the Government in this House on the 10th July. As was then indicated, it is not the Government's intention to impose conditions of the character suggested in the question.
