§ 18. Mr. SIMMONDS (for Mr. TEMPLE MORRIS)asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether, in the case of an air disaster such as the one which happened to the French aeroplane last Wednesday, the British authorities make any investigation as to its causes, especially in view of the fact that this aeroplane was running on the normal cross-Channel service by which so many British passengers travel?
§ Sir P. SASSOONNo, Sir; so far as foreign aircraft are concerned the Air Ministry is empowered to arrange such investigation only if the accident occurs in or over the British Islands.
§ Mr. SIMMONDSDoes not the right hon. Gentleman think that it would be much preferable if, when British air services are available, British subjects should utilise them rather than foreign services?
