HC Deb 15 May 1934 vol 289 cc1604-5
26. Mr. CHORLTON

asked the President of the Board of Trade if any further investigation is being made into the effects of the most-favoured-nation clause bearing in mind the recommendations from trade bodies for its abrogation?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I understand that the Association of British Chambers of Commerce have, in consultation with other trade bodies, formed a committee to consider this question.

Mr. CHORLTON

What is the right hon. Gentleman going to do after the committee is formed?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I am going to supply them with all the information that they need.
