Brigadier - General CLIFTON BROWNasked the Minister for Agriculture whether steps are being taken to give the consumer more confidence in the milk supply by incorporating in the present scheme an accredited herd system as recommended by the Milk Re-organisation Committee; and, if so, when will the details of that system be available so that the producers can take advantage of it in their next contract?
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREI understand that the Milk Marketing Board has for some time past been actively engaged on working out a scheme of the nature to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers, and that it is hoped to bring the scheme into operation as from the 1st October next. The details will be published as soon as possible.
