HC Deb 21 March 1934 vol 287 cc1195-6
6. Lieut.-Colonel TODD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the question of the validity of the pre-war Turkish concessions in Palestine has been recently considered; and, in particular, what will be the position of the concession granted to Mr. Moses Novomesky by His Majesty's Government in January, 1930, in the event of the Turkish commercial court upholding the validity of the pre-war Turkish concessions?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)

I understand that this matter is the subject of an action which is at present pending in the Courts in this country and that, in connection with the case, it has been necessary to obtain certain evidence on commission in the Turkish Courts. It would not be proper for me to make any statement while the case is sub judice.
