HC Deb 21 March 1934 vol 287 c1204
32. Mr. EADY

asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of foreign countries still affected by the restricted currency; and if they are carrying out the agreements entered into?

Lieut.-Colonel COLVILLE

Some degree of control over the sale and purchase of foreign exchange exists in 27 countries. There is only one case, namely, the Anglo-Argentine Convention of 1st May, 1933, of an agreement of the type to which I presume my hon. Friend refers. Although some matters are still under active discussion, His Majesty's Government are satisfied that the Argentine Government have done their best to carry out their engagements.
