HC Deb 21 June 1934 vol 291 c544
45. Captain CUNNINGHAM-REID

asked the Prime Minister if he will arrange for the general circulation among Government Departments of paragraph IV of the recent report of the Royal Fine Art Commission which condemns such Departments applying for exemption from the restrictions imposed by the London Building Acts on the grounds that it should be the duty of all Government Departments to set an example of scrupulous respect for the amenities which private owners might be persuaded to follow?

The PRIME MINISTER

From inquiries which I have caused to be made, I am satisfied that the Departments concerned have already acquainted themselves with the contents of the report, and I do not think that any further action is called for.
