§ 77 and 78. Mr. NUNNasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (1) whether, for the purpose of assisting him to come to a decision as to the legal and technical reforms required, he will instruct His Majesty's minister in China to call for a Report from the Crown advocate at Shanghai on the present working of the Shanghai district court;
(2) whether, for the purpose of obtaining a first-hand account of the working of the Shanghai district court, he will direct His Majesty's minister to obtain a report from the British Bar Association in Shanghai on the matters of procedure and practice in which reforms are required?
§ Mr. EDENHis Majesty's Government are already in possession of very ample information on the subject from all available sources, and His Majesty's Minister will neglect no opportunity of acquiring further information as occasion requires. My right hon. Friend sees no need to issue any special instructions to him at the present moment.
