HC Deb 06 June 1934 vol 290 c939
27. Mr. TEMPLE MORRIS

asked the Minister of Transport the number of prosecutions in the country in each of the last six months for over-running traffic lights; and what steps are taken to exercise an effective supervision of the working of these lights so that under no circumstances are they likely to cease to operate unexpectedly?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

I am informed that the information for which my hon. Friends asks with regard to prosecutions is not available. The lights are inspected periodically, and in the event of a breakdown being observed, the police would immediately notify the responsible authority and arrange for the direction of traffic meanwhile.
