HC Deb 06 June 1934 vol 290 c920
28. Sir CHARLES CAYZER

asked the Attorney-General whether he will consider appointing at an early date a committee for the purpose of carrying out a codification of the criminal law?

The ATTORNEY - GENERAL (Sir Thomas Inskip)

I have consulted my Noble Friend, the Lord Chancellor, and I am satisfied that to set up a committee to codify the criminal law would not lead to any useful result.
