HC Deb 30 July 1934 vol 292 cc2260-1
25. Mr. DAVID GRENFELL

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the report of the technical agent of the League of Nations on his mission to China has yet been considered by any of the League technical organisations; whether the question of continued technical co-operation between the League of Nations and China on the lines of the report will come before the next assembly of the League of Nations; and whether His Majesty's Government will give their support and co-operation?

Mr. EDEN

The report has been transmitted to the technical organisations of the League for their consideration. Their observations upon it are not yet available. The question of continued technical co-operation between the League and China figures on the agenda for the next meeting of the Assembly, as one of the items contained in the Secretary-General's report. His Majesty's Government would in principle approve any assistance which the League might be able to give to China in the interests of China herself and of the world generally.
