HC Deb 25 July 1934 vol 292 c1771
28. Rear - Admiral Sir MURRAY SUETER

asked the Minister of Pensions whether his attention has been called to the cancellation of Commander Colmore's pension; when this pension was granted; what it was granted for; how long this officer was in receipt of his pension; and for what reason his pension was cancelled?

Captain A. HUDSON

I have been asked to reply. Disability retired pay was awarded in this case as from October, 1919, and remained in issue until March, 1923, in respect of a wound of the left leg sustained in this country. Payment was discontinued on the ground that the wound was then found to have been incurred through the officer's own serious negligence and this view of the circumstances is in accord with the judgment of the Service Departments concerned. I understand that the officer was notified at the time of his right of appeal to the independent Pensions Appeal Tribunal, but he did not exercise that right.
