HC Deb 24 July 1934 vol 292 c1628
48. Lord SCONE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that wine merchants in Perth complain of inadequate storage facilities for bonded liquor; and if he will inquire into the position?

The FINANCIAL. SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Duff Cooper)

I am not aware that there is any general colt-plaint on the part of the wine merchants at Perth of inadequate storage facilities for bonded liquor at that place, although I am aware that certain traders would prefer to be allowed to store their goods in bonded warehouses of their own rather than in the ordinary public warehouses. Applications for extension of bonded accommodation are under consideration by the Customs and Excise authorities at the present time.
