HC Deb 19 July 1934 vol 292 c1263
35. Lieut.-Colonel MOORE

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether any preventive for grass sickness in horses is known at the present time; and, if not, whether any steps are being taken by his Department to evolve such a preventive?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Elliot)

The causal factor of grass sickness is unknown and no preventive agent can yet be recommended. Research on this subject is being conducted at the Moredun Animal Diseases Research Institute, near Edinburgh, the institute most conveniently situated to the areas in which the condition is most prevalent.
