HC Deb 18 July 1934 vol 292 c1086
10. Sir M. SUETER(for Captain BALFOUR)

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that Royal Air Force officers on leave are being engaged on certain civil air-lines as unpaid pilots; that these officers transport fare-paying passengers; and if, in view of the fact that this practice must deprive civilian pilots of opportunities for remunerative employment and that it is not a purpose for which leave is granted, he will take steps to have this practice prohibited forthwith?

Sir P. SASSOON

I am not aware of the practice to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers; if he will furnish me with particulars of any case which he has in mind, I will consider whether the regulations require any strengthening.
