HC Deb 16 July 1934 vol 292 c778
40. Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that His Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary for Scotland draws attention in his report to the desirability of increasing the number of young special constables; and whether any steps are being taken in this direction?

Mr. SKELTON

My right hon. Friend is aware that the report of His Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary for Scotland for 1933 recommends that chief constables should endeavour to recruit some younger men as special constables. A copy of the report has been sent to each chief constable in Scotland.
