asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will now consider arranging for an early investigation into the question of the dumping of foreign goods into this country again breaking out on a large scale, involving danger to many British industries?

This matter cannot cannot be usefully investigated except in relation to particular classes of goods of which imports at low prices give rise to complaint. Such inquiries are a matter in the first, instance for the Import Duties Advisory Committee, who have in a number of cases recommended increased duties on the ground that goods were being imported at unduly low prices
