§ The MINISTER of LABOUR (Mr. Oliver Stanley)I have received a table setting out the basis of need laid down by the Commissioners for transitional payments in the county of Durham, and am circulating a copy in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Mr. BATEYCan the Minister tell us whether the scale provides for an unemployed man being paid 17s. a week?
§ Mr. STANLEYThe hon. Member will see the actual details in the scale, but the general effect, I understand, is that rather more than 10 per cent. will be added to the cost of transitional payments in Durham.
