HC Deb 06 February 1934 vol 285 c940
6. Captain SPENCER

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs upon what date the importation of sheet-glass into Australia was prohibited by the Government of that Dominion; what representations his Department has made upon this matter; and what reply, if any, has been received from the Australian Government?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

The matter still forms the subject of communication with His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia, and I have recently reminded the High Commissioner for the Commonwealth in London of the importance which His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom attach to it. Pending a reply from the Commonwealth Government, I am not in a position to make a further statement.
