HC Deb 17 December 1934 vol 296 c809
27. Captain FULLER

asked the Minister of Labour whether the Government have any plans for dealing with labour at present surplus to industrial requirements besides the Depressed Areas (Development and Improvement) Bill?

Mr. HUDSON

The whole policy of the Government is directed to the re-establishment of industrial prosperity, and, as evidence of its effectiveness, I would point to the fact that since the Government came into office the number of insured persons in employment has increased by over 800,000.

Captain FULLER

Will the hon. Member kindly answer the question on the Paper? In view of the unsatisfactory nature of the reply, I give notice that I shall raise this matter on the adjournment.
