HC Deb 04 December 1934 vol 295 cc1407-8
42. Mr. MANDER

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the advisability of including within the terms of reference of the Arm Inquiry Committee the problem of the supply of arms that would arise in the event of all such armed force as was required for international police purposes being placed in the hands of the League of Nations and the abandonment of national forces except for internal police purposes?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

No, Sir. The question is based on a hypothesis which is beyond the bounds of practical politics at the present time.

Mr. MANDER

Is it not the practice of this Government to look well ahead, and would it not be a desirable thing to do here?
