HC Deb 03 December 1934 vol 295 c1218
14. Sir THOMAS ROSBOTHAM

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is satisfied that every effort is being made to extend the aid of science and research in connection with the poultry industry; and, if not, will he give the matter his careful attention, especially the preservation of eggs in shell and in liquid form?

Mr. ELLIOT

I am well aware of the importance of scientific research to the poultry industry, and every effort is made to promote it so far as available funds permit. The position will be reviewed, in consultation with the Agricultural Research Council, in the light of the forthcoming report of the Reorganisation Commission for Eggs and Poultry.

15. Sir T. ROSBOTHAM

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is now in a position to state when the report of the Poultry Commission will be issued?

Mr. ELLIOT

I have heard recently from the Chairman of the Reorganisation Commission for Eggs and Poultry that he hopes to be able to place the report in my hands before Christmas; it will be published as soon as I receive it.
