HC Deb 30 April 1934 vol 289 cc20-1
28. Brigadier-General NATION

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the increase in the revenue obtained by the Post Office in the past year, he will consider the possibility first of making a reduction in the minimum cost of a telegram to ninepence and then of extending the night-call rates for telephones to 8 a.m.?

Sir K. WOOD

The question raised by my hon. and gallant Friend was brought to my notice by a recent deputation from the Federation of British Wholesale Fish Merchants' Associations. While I am afraid that there will be considerable difficulties in the way of adopting the proposals, I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that the matter is receiving careful consideration.
