HC Deb 18 April 1934 vol 288 c952
24. Captain BALFOUR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he can now make any further statement regarding the progress of experiments being carried on by the Air Ministry and the Electricity Commissioners for the purpose of determining the most effective and practical method of eliminating the danger to flyers from unilluminated pylons?

Sir P. SASSOON

The experiments and investigations are still proceeding, but I regret that I am not in a position to give my hon. and gallant Friend any further information beyond that contained in my reply to him of the 1st February and in my subsequent letter explaining the difficulties of the problem.

Captain BALFOUR

In view of the fact that this danger is ever increasing, as the number of pylons becomes greater, will my right hon. Friend be able to give me some more definite information if I put down a question in a month's time?

Sir P. SASSOON

I shall be very glad if my hon. and gallant Friend will put down a question.
