HC Deb 30 November 1933 vol 283 cc1031-2
4. Mr. BUCHANAN

asked the Minister of Labour the total amount of savings which have resulted as a result of the anomalies regulations; and the saving in regard to seasonal workers?

2. Mr. McGOVERN

asked the Minister of Labour the total amount of money saved by the Anomalies Act up to the 31st October, 1933?

Mr. HUDSON

Calculations made when the Anomalies Regulations had become fully operative showed that the reduction in benefit and transitional payments effected thereby was at the rate of about £4,000,000 per annum, of which about one-eighth related to seasonal workers. There is no reason to think that the present figures diverge much from this rate.
