HC Deb 28 November 1933 vol 283 cc687-8
54. Mr. LAMBERT

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what amounts would have been due to the Treasury for the present financial year on account of war debt interest from foreign countries and Dominions had not the Hoover moratorium intervened?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I would refer my right hon. Friend to the figures given on page 13 of the Financial Statement, 1933–34 (House of Commons Paper No. 96).

Mr. LAMBERT

Would it not be well to jog their memory that a token payment would be welcomed?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have no such intention at present.
