asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will state the amount of money paid in each of the years 1930, 1931 and 1932 by the Exchequer to local authorities in discharge of rates on tithe rentcharge; and whether the tithe-owners are deducting rates paid by the Exchequer from their Income Tax returns?

The net amounts borne by the Exchequer in rtspect of rates on tithes, under the Tithe Act, 1925, and the Local Government Act, 1929, are as follow:
