HC Deb 28 November 1933 vol 283 cc685-6
45. Mr. T. SMITH

asked the Prime Minister when he last attended the Disarmament Conference; how much time he has spent altogether at the Conference since it began on 2nd February, 1932; when he last saw any of the officers of the Conference, such as the president, vice-president, rapporteur, or secretary-general; and when he next proposes to attend the Conference?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

I last attended the Disarmament Conference in March, 1933, and had previously visited Geneva in April, 1932, on various occasions during the month of June, and again in December, 1932. I had conversations with the officials of the Conference during my last visit in March of this year, and have, of course, both before and since then, had the advantage of constant contact with them through my right hon. Friend the Secre- tary of State for Foreign Affairs and my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State. The answer to the last part of the question will naturally depend on circumstances, and will be settled as on previous occasions in consultation with my colleagues.
