HC Deb 07 November 1933 vol 281 cc27-8
45. Lieut. Colonel J. SANDEMAN ALLEN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is making progress towards a considerable reduction of taxation in the forthcoming Budget?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The improved condition of the country which is evidenced in many ways enables me to look with confidence for a favourable financial outturn on the present financial year. I cannot now make any statement as to the revenue or expenditure of the succeeding year 1934–35.
