HC Deb 23 May 1933 vol 278 c900
2. Brigadier-General NATION

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether the Army Council has considered the suggestion made in the Private Members' Economy Committee Report, 1932, for the amalgamation of Woolwich and Sandhurst; and what action is proposed in the matter?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Duff Cooper)

In accordance with the promise which I gave during the Debate on Army Estimates, this question is now being investigated. No decision has yet been taken.

Mr. KIRKWOOD

Will the hon. Gentleman have due regard to the effect which this will have on the workers employed at Woolwich and Sandhurst?

Mr. COOPER

That will be taken into consideration.
