§ Sir J. GILMOURI decided in February last, on the advice of the Aliens Deportation Advisory Committee, to make a Deportation Order against Oscar Hartzell, on the ground that, as he had no genuine occupation and was holding himself out as carrying on a scheme for the recovery of the so-called Drake estate alleged to be dormant in Chancery, it was not conducive to the public good that he should be allowed to remain in this country. So far as His Majesty's Government is aware, there is no unsettled or unappropriated estate in existence which formerly belonged to Sir Francis Drake or to any member of his family.
