HC Deb 29 March 1933 vol 276 c999
35. Mr. THORNE

asked the Home Secretary whether he has received a report of the crane accident which occurred at Seymour Street, Euston, on 24th March; and what action he intends to take in the matter?

Mr. HACKING

It appears on investigation that this accident was due to an error of judgment on the part of the crane driver, who drove the crane too far along the rails. I am advised that stops were provided on the rails and that the mechanism of the crane appeared to be in good order. In these circumstances it would appear that there is no further action which my right hon. Friend can usefully take in the case.
