§ The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)Grants-in-aid amount to £408,100 and Exchequer loans to £3,085,891. There have also been certain grants from the 500 Colonial Development Fund amounting to approximately £110,000 and loans from the same source totalling about £26,000. His Majesty's Government have never contemplated any surrender of the mandate.
