HC Deb 23 March 1933 vol 276 c478
49. Mr. PEAT

asked the Minister of Health how many schemes of a revenue-producing character have been brought to his attention by local authorities since the 1st January, 1933; and which of these schemes have been approved by His Majesty's Government?

Sir H. YOUNG

I cannot readily give the number of applications, but, including housing, revenue-producing schemes to a total of £3,900,000 submitted by 567 authorities have been sanctioned by me since the beginning of this year.

Mr. HICKS

Will the right hon. Gentleman give a definition? Does "revenue-producing" mean profit-making, or does it mean revenue-producing which is not necessarily for profit?

Sir H. YOUNG

I think that I should need notice of that question in order to produce a definition.
