HC Deb 22 March 1933 vol 276 c311
19. Mr. HOLDSWORTH

(for Mr. HEPWORTH) asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the declared value of imports into the United Kingdam from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland in the last half of 1932 showed any increase over the comparative figures for the previous year; and whether the declared value of exports of the produce and manufactures of the United Kingdom to the four countries in question in the same period showed any increase and, if so, to what extent?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Dr. Burgin)

The only increases were in respect of exports to Denmark and Finland, these increases amounting to £741,000 and £506,000 respectively. Exports to Norway and Sweden and imports from all four countries were less in the last half of 1932 than in the corresponding period of 1931.
