HC Deb 21 March 1933 vol 276 c172
7. Mr. BARCLAY-HARVEY

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he has yet been able to obtain any information as to the intention of Germany to recommence subsidising the export of oats in the near future?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

If my hon. Friend refers to the German export bond system, the answer is that the system has been extended to cover oats as from 11th March. Under this system as now modified the exporter of oats or oat products receives a certificate which entitles him to import an equivalent quantity of oats at half the normal rate of duty.
