HC Deb 13 June 1933 vol 279 c15
28. Mr. PARKINSON (for Mr. RHYS DAVIES)

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India have now considered the report of Sir Samuel Wilson on the decentralisation policy proposed for the Malay Straits Settlement; and whether they propose to take any action with a view to safeguarding the interests of non-Malays with special reference to Indian settlers?

Mr. BUTLER

The report has been communicated to the Government of India and I have no doubt that they have considered it. As regards the latter part of the question the hon. Member is no doubt aware that the Government of India keep in close touch, through their agent in Malaya, with all matters affecting the welfare of the Indian community.
