asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of awards and withdrawals of blind pensions made in Scotland for the years 1929, 1930, 1931 and 1932, respectively?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

I regret that the information in the form desired by my hon. Friend is not available. I am, however, arranging for figures showing the number of blind pensions in payment in Scotland at the end of each of the years 1929–1932 to be circulated in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following are the figures:

The numbers of blind pensions in payment in Scotland at 31st December in each of the years 1929–1932 and the net increase or decrease over the preceding year were as follows:

1929 3,286 +193
1930 3,231 -55
