HC Deb 10 July 1933 vol 280 cc730-1
7. Duchess of ATHOLL

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that the following Indian gentlemen serving as magistrates and extra-assistant commissioners in the Punjab Civil Service whose dismissals are recorded in the Punjab Government Gazette, respectively, of 17th February, 27th May, and 3rd June, 1933, i.e., Lala Much Raj Marwaha, Chaudhri Daye Ran, and Pandit Lekh Raj Trikha, were dismissed on account of being convicted of bribery in the discharge of their judicial duties; if so, whether such convictions were arrived at after full trial; and whether the sentence had the concurrence of the honourable judges of the High Court of the Punjab?

Sir S. HOARE

I have no information in the matter, but will inquire.
