Repairs to His Majesty's warships are carried out in the Royal dockyards, but it is the practice to invite tenders for repairs to Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve drill ships from local firms, and Messrs. Harland and Wolff are invariably invited to tender for repairs to the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve drill ship, His Majesty's Ship Caroline, which is stationed at Belfast
