HC Deb 06 July 1933 vol 280 cc479-80
2. Mr. LECKIE

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the need which exists for the provision of sanitary accommodation at the Walsall Employment Exchange for applicants attending there, he will reconsider the matter and arrange for the desired accommodation?

Sir H. BETTERTON

The Department have not in the past seen their way to incur the very considerable expense of providing lavatory accommodation for members of the public attending at Employment Exchanges. I recently had occasion to consider this point, owing to representations that were made to me from several quarters, and felt bound to reaffirm the previous decision. I regret, therefore, that I cannot reconsider the decision in the case of Walsall.
