HC Deb 27 February 1933 vol 275 cc2-3
9. Mr. T. WILLIAMS

asked the Secretary of State for India what action the Government of India proposes to take with regard to the strictures passed by the High Court upon the administration of justice in the lower courts in which the Raiya communal riot case was heard?

Mr. BUTLER

I have no information as to any instructions which the Government of the United Provinces may have issued or propose to issue in consequence of the judgment in this case.

Mr. WILLIAMS

Will the hon. Member make inquiries in order to make himself acquainted, so that he can express an opinion later on?

Mr. BUTLER

Our only information on this subject, hitherto, has been from the Press, but I can assure the hon. Member that any official notice of this matter will receive our earnest consideration.
