§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Mr. R. S. Hudson)The approximate total cost of administration of transitional payments borne by the Exchequer in the 200 two years from November, 1931, to 30th November, 1933, is £6,700,000. Separate figures for Lancashire are not available. The total includes the administrative costs of the Ministry and of other Government Departments, together with the approved additional expenses of local authorities on work in connection with the determination of needs of applicants.
