§ 31. Captain CUNNINGHAM - REIDasked the Postmaster-General the amount of travellers' warrants issued by his Department to savings bank depositors since the inception of this scheme; and if the experience has been sufficiently favourable to justify the renewal of the scheme during the holiday period in future years?
§ Sir K. WOOD66,000 travellers' warrants to the amount of nearly£200,000 have been issued. Applications are still being received and are being met. In view of its success, I propose to continue the scheme on a permanent basis.
