HC Deb 11 December 1933 vol 284 c15
31. Captain CUNNINGHAM - REID

asked the Postmaster-General the amount of travellers' warrants issued by his Department to savings bank depositors since the inception of this scheme; and if the experience has been sufficiently favourable to justify the renewal of the scheme during the holiday period in future years?

Sir K. WOOD

66,000 travellers' warrants to the amount of nearly£200,000 have been issued. Applications are still being received and are being met. In view of its success, I propose to continue the scheme on a permanent basis.
