HC Deb 11 December 1933 vol 284 cc11-2
17. Mr. ANEURIN BEVAN

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any information regarding the proposals of the German Government relating to re-armament; and whether such proposals include permission to increase the German long-service army and to construct military aircraft?

Sir J. SIMON

In accordance with the suggestion made by the Bureau of the Disarmament Conference on 22nd November, His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom are in communication with various Governments with a view to advancing in every way possible the work which lies before the General Commission. It would not be in the public interest to make any statement at present.

Mr. BEVAN

Can the right hon. Gentleman tell the House at approximately what date the information will be available?

18. Mr. BEVAN

Sir J. SIMON

I would refer the hon. Member to the Statement regarding international supervision which I made in my speech of the 7th November, and which continues to represent the attitude of His Majesty's Government to this question.
