HC Deb 13 April 1933 vol 276 cc2728-9
34. Mr. LEONARD

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland who will be the third person on the committee empowered to inquire into the allegations of graft in Glasgow?

33. Mr. McGOVERN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is now in a position to state the name of the third person who will serve on the Glasgow Corporation graft inquiry; and when they will take up their duties?

Sir F. THOMSON

I have been asked to reply. The name of the third member of the tribunal, which has now been appointed, is Mr. John Mair Hunter, K.C., Sheriff of Roxburgh, Berwick and Selkirk. As my right hon. Friend indicated in moving the resolution on Tuesday last, it will rest with the tribunal to decide when they will open their inquiry.
