Of the total value of merchandise imported into the Soviet Union during 1929, 1930, 1931 and the period Junuary to August, 1932, imports from the United States represented 20.1 per cent., 25.0 per cent., and 4.1 per cent., respectively, while those from the United Kingdom represented 6.2 per cent., 7.6 per cent., 6.6 per cent., and 13.2 per cent., respectively.

During the 12 months ended 30th September last the orders placed by Russia with manufacturers in this country for which the Export Credits Guarantee Department provided facilities amounted to approximately £6,279,000.
