HC Deb 25 October 1932 vol 269 c820
50. Lieut.-Colonel MOORE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to what extent the revenue received by this country as a result of the application of duties to Irish exports has balanced the moneys withheld by the Irish Free State?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The Irish Free State had already withheld sums amounting to £1,750,000 by the 15th July, when the Special Duties came into force. The sums withheld between that date and the 15th October amounted to £564,000, and the revenue from the Special Duties, during the same period, to £503,000.
