5. Sir JOHN WARDLAW-MILNE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps are being taken to keep the Shanghai Municipal Council fully informed and its views at all points obtained in the negotiations for the revision of the district court agreement?

The PRIME MINISTER

His Majesty's Minister will keep in touch with the leading members of the British community at Shanghai, including the British members of the Municipal Council, in connection with this matter, and will take account of their views so far as possible on all points of interest to them.
