HC Deb 10 November 1932 vol 270 c505
77. Mr. LAMBERT

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if the Argentine Government have agreed to the proposed limitation by the shippers of meat products from the Argentine?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir John Simon)

This matter is under discussion with the Argentine Government, and it is undesirable to make any public statement on this point at the moment.

Mr. LAMBERT

Will my right hon. Friend take some counsel with the Argentine Government to watch the profits made by the importers of these products, as the price will fall in the Argentine and rise here?

Sir J. SIMON

The matter is one which is being considered by a number of Government Departments, and I have no doubt that my right hon. Friend's observations will be noted and taken into account.
